DeRonn Scott
DeRonn Scott Jr. (born April 26, 1991) is an American former professional basketball player. College career Scott played college basketball for Xavier University of Louisiana and Cal Poly Pomona. Professional career After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona in 2014, Scott joined the Providence Sky Chiefs of the American Basketball Association. He helped the Sky Chiefs reach a 9–4 record and averaged 13.1 points per game. On January 24, 2015, he signed with the Nelson Giants in New Zealand for the 2015 NBL season. In 19 games for Nelson, he averaged 16.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. On August 20, 2015, Scott signed with ZZ Leiden of the Dutch Basketball League The Dutch Basketball League (DBL), formerly the Eredivisie, was the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands, run by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). Guard (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Over time, as more specialized roles developed, each of the guards and forwards came to be differentiated, and today each of the five positions are known by unique names, each of which has also been assigned a number: point guard (PG) or 1, the shooting guard (SG) or 2, the small forward (SF) or 3, the power forward (PF) or 4, and the center (C) or 5. 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe. Format In the Regular season, 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the Regular season play in groups of four. Starting from the Round of 16, quarter-finals will be played. The tournament will conclude with a Final Four. Teams The deadline to register in the competition was on July 30.
