Days Between Stations
Days Between Stations is a partnership between guitarist Sepand Samzadeh and keyboardist Oscar Fuentes Bills. They named the band after the 1985 novel by Steve Erickson. Samzadeh describes the band's sound as "art-rock", while Fuentes describes it as "post- prog". Biography The duo came together in Los Angeles in November 2003 after Samzadeh placed an ad in the Music Connection magazine. Release of their first album was pushed back several times as the band members faced various difficulties, including the death of a family member. In 2004, Fuentes and Samzadeh sent Bruce Soord, leader of the British band The Pineapple Thief, a CD with nearly an hour's worth of mostly improvised material. Soord used some of this material as the basis for the song "Saturday" on The Pineapple Thief's ''12 Stories Down'' (Cyclops 2004). Durga McBroom is an American singer who has performed backing vocals for Pink Floyd and is a member of the house music band Blue Pearl, best known for their hit single " Naked in the Rain". She works as an actress, dancer, and singer in the United States and internationally. ''Giants'' is the third full-length album by the Los Angeles, California-based band Days Between Stations and features guest appearances by XTC member Colin Moulding, Billy Sherwood of Yes and backing vocalist for Pink Floyd, Durga McBroom. It was released on September 21, 2020. Although firmly rooted in the progressive rock genre, ''Giants'' ventures into more rock-oriented material. Billy Sherwood had a greater role as a co-writer and co-producer, even contributing his own song ''The Common Thread'' to the album. Colin Moulding wrote the lyrics to ''Goes By Gravity''. Colin Moulding
Colin Ivor Moulding (born 17 August 1955) is an English bassist, singer, and songwriter who was one of the core members of the rock band XTC. Though he was less prolific a songwriter than his bandmate Andy Partridge, Moulding wrote their first three charting UK singles: " Life Begins at the Hop" (1979), " Making Plans for Nigel" (1979) and " Generals and Majors" (1980). Tony Levin
Anthony Frederick Levin (born June 6, 1946) is an American musician and composer, specializing in electric bass, Chapman Stick and upright bass. He also sings and plays synthesizer. Levin is best known for his work with King Crimson (since 1981) and Peter Gabriel (since 1977). Richard Christopher Wakeman (born 18 May 1949) is an English keyboardist best known as a former member of the progressive rock band Yes (band), Yes across five tenures between 1971 and 2004, and for his solo albums released in the 1970s. William Wyman Sherwood (born March 14, 1965) is an American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, singer, record producer and mixing engineer. He is best known for his tenures in the English progressive rock band Yes as guitarist and keyboardist from 1997 to 2000 and as bassist since 2015, following the death of original bassist Chris Squire. He is known for working with former and current Yes members on other projects as well. In addition to his involvement with Yes, Sherwood is the frontman of progressive rock groups World Trade, Circa and formerly Lodgic. ''In Extremis'' is the second full-length album by the Los Angeles, California based progressive rock band Days Between Stations. In Extremis is a concept album about a man at the point of death. The title "In Extremis" refers to the Latin term "In extremity" – A term used in reference to the last illness prior to death. The album contains one of the last studio performances by former Yes guitarist Peter Banks. The album was listed in SomethingElseReviews.com's list of "top 10" Progressive Rock albums of 2013. In early 2014, the band released "In Extremis" in the vinyl format as a 2LP gatefold with 2 versions: a limited edition colored vinyl (50 units) and a larger edition in black vinyl (450 units). Peter Banks
Peter William Brockbanks (15 July 1947 – 7 March 2013), known professionally as Peter Banks, was a British guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer. He was the original guitarist in the rock band Yes, and also the Syn, Flash, and Empire.
