Career Dayoutoftheoffice's first race was on May 14, 2020 at Gulfstream Park, where she came in first. On July 16, 2020, she won the Grade-3 Schuylerville Stakes. She defeated Make Mischief by 6th lengths at 19:1 odds. On October 10, 2020, she won her 3rd race in a row when she won the Grade-1 Frizette Stakes. Vequist (foaled February 6, 2018) is an American National Champion Thoroughbred racemare who won the 2020 Spinaway Stakes and Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Racing career 2020: Two-Year-Old Season Vequist came second in her debut on July 29 at Parx Racetrack. She then won the Spinaway Stakes on September 6. She entered the race with 6:1 odds and won by 1 and 1/2 lengths over Esplanande. On October 10, she came second in the Frizette Stakes. She came into the race as the favorite at 4:5 odds but lost to Dayoutoftheoffice by 2 lengths. On November 6, Vequist won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. She was the 4th favorite for the race and won by 2 lengths over Dayoutoftheoffice. Into Mischief (foaled March 28, 2005) is a retired American Thoroughbred racehorse and active sire. During his racing career, he won three of six starts including the CashCall Futurity. Since his retirement, he has developed into an outstanding sire, leading the North American sire list in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. His offspring include Authentic (2020 American Horse of the Year), Mandaloun (2021 Kentucky Derby), Life Is Good (Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile) and Covfefe (female sprint Champion). Background Into Mischief was bred in Kentucky by James T. Hines Jr. He was from the first crop of Harlan's Holiday, a Grade I-winning grandson of Storm Cat. Frizette Stakes
The Frizette Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race for two-year-old fillies raced annually at Belmont Park in October. It is currently a Grade I stakes race at a distance of one mile. The Frizette is the female counterpart of the Champagne Stakes. The race is currently part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge series. The winner automatically qualifies for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. The Frizette was named for the James R. Keene owned and bred racing filly who won the Rosedale Stakes in 1907 and one of the most important foundation mares of the twentieth century. Sired by Hamburg, Frizette was the granddam of the Hall of Fame inductee, Myrtlewood. Inaugurated in 1945, the Frizette was first run at the Jamaica Race Course, then ran at Aqueduct Racetrack in 1960, 1961, and from 1963 to 1967. There was no race run from 1949 through 1951. Schuylerville Stakes
The Schuylerville Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race held annually at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. Open to two-year-old fillies, it is contested at a distance of six furlongs on dirt. A Grade III event, it currently offers a purse of $150,000. In 2006, the race was downgraded from a Grade II to a Grade III. By tradition, the Schuylerville opens the Saratoga meet each year. The race is named for the nearby town of Schuylerville, New York. The race was hosted by Belmont Park in 1943, 1944, and 1945, and in 1952 at the now defunct Jamaica Race Course. Harlan's Holiday (April 6, 1999 – November 1, 2013) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won three Grade 1 stakes before retiring to stud where he had become a successful sire. Background Harlan's Holiday was a bay horse bred by Double D Farm Corp. He was originally sent into training with Kenneth McPeek. He was sired by the Vosburgh Stakes winner Harlan, whose other progeny have included the Haskell Invitational Stakes winner Menifee. Racing career 2001: two-year-old season As a two-year-old, Harlan's Holiday won the Cradle Stakes at River Downs Racetrack and finished second to Siphonic in the Breeders' Futurity Stakes at Keeneland in October. Indian Charlie Indian Charlie (March 27, 1995 – December 15, 2011) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 1998 Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby, equaling the stakes record time, before finishing third in the Kentucky Derby in his final start. He is best known as an important sire of Champions, and his son Uncle Mo was the leading freshman sire of 2015. Racing career Indian Charlie won his first four races, including a length victory over Real Quiet in the Santa Anita Derby, equaling the stakes record of 1:47 flat. He started at odds of 5/2 for the Kentucky Derby, in which he finished third to Real Quiet. He was rested after the Derby and missed the Preakness and Belmont Stakes.
