Dawn Macandili-Catindig
Dawn Nicole Lirio Macandili-Catindig (born June 1, 1996) is a Filipino volleyball athlete. She is a member of the Philippines women's national volleyball team. She played in the UAAP for the De La Salle University Lady Spikers for 5 seasons (76-80), and is currently playing in the Premier Volleyball League for the Cignal HD Spikers. Personal life Macandili is a graduate of AB Psychology at De La Salle University. In March 2023, she married her longtime boyfriend, Diego Catindig. Career Macandili was the first libero in the Philippines to receive a Most Valuable Player award when she won the award in the 2016 Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference. She is also a member of the Philippine National Women's Volleyball Team that played in the 2017 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship, where in she was hailed as the 2nd Best Libero. Tanauan, officially the City of Tanauan (), is a Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, component city in the Provinces of the Philippines, province of Batangas, Philippines. Premier Volleyball League
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is the top-level professional women's volleyball league in the Philippines organized by the Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The PVL was established in 2004 as the inter-collegiate Shakey's V-League (SVL) until it rebranded to the current entity in 2017. Prior to becoming a full-fledged professional league in 2021, the PVL was open to participation of corporate owned semi-professional clubs and non-collegiate teams backed by local governments. The PVL previously operated men's and collegiate divisions before they were spun-off into Spikers' Turf and the V-League (Philippines), V-League, respectively, both are also operated by Sports Vision. UAAP Season 79 Volleyball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 79 volleyball tournaments started on February 4, 2017 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, with the opening games of the men and women's senior volleyball tourneys, participated by 8 regular UAAP members. Aside from the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the games will also be held at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan City and the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay. The UAAP Season 78 high school volleyball tournament started on August 22, 2015. The tournament venue is the Adamson University Gym in San Marcelino St., Ermita, Manila. Adamson is the tournament host. The number of participating schools in the boys' and girls' tournaments both increased to seven. Far Eastern University fielded boys' and girls' volleyball teams beginning season 77. Since there are now seven participating schools, the tournaments have a Final Four format. The Choco Mucho Flying Titans are a Filipino professional women's volleyball team playing in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). The team is owned by food company Rebisco. Jia De Guzman
Julia Melissa "Jia" Morado-de Guzman (born May 10, 1995) is a Filipino volleyball player. She was a member of the Ateneo Lady Eagles and was the team's captain in the UAAP Season 79 Women's Volleyball tournament. From 2015, Jia has been a constant member of the Philippines Women's National Volleyball Team. Career De Guzman also played in the 2012 Palarong Pambansa and led the NCR Team to a championship, where she also won the Best Setter award. Dennise Michelle "Denden" Garcia Lazaro-Revilla (born January 21, 1992) is a Filipina professional volleyball player. Lazaro is a member of the Philippines women's national volleyball team. She is known as the libero and Ateneo Lady Eagles' Iron Eagle. Personal life She was born on January 21, 1992, in Metro Manila. She attended high school at Colegio San Agustin – Makati and completed her BS Biology degree at the Ateneo de Manila University in 2015. After graduation, Lazaro entered medical school at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health. However, by the end of 2016, it was reported that Lazaro filed a leave of absence from her schooling to resume her volleyball career. Lazaro married basketball player LA Revilla on January 27, 2020.
