Elga Brink
Elisabeth Margarete Biermann (born Frey, formerly Brink; 2 April 1905 – 28 October 1985), known professionally as Elga Brink, was a German film actress. Brink rose to prominence in the early 1920s, when she starred in many silent films. Her last silent film was '' Marriage in Trouble'' in 1928. After silent films, Brink continued acting in sound films until her retirement in 1951. Her last role was in the 1951 movie ''Das fremde Leben.'' After her retirement, Brink remarried and worked as a clerk in Hamburg until her death in 1985. Life Elga Brink was born Elisabeth Margarete Frey in Berlin on 2 April 1905, the daughter of a banker in Berlin-Waidmannslust. Shortly after her birth, her surname was changed to Brink. Brink attended a business school before being introduced to silent films by Albert Pommer, the brother of Erich Pommer. He made his stage debut on 20 October 1905 at the Stadttheater Passau performing in operettas. In 1906 he moved to the Studienhaus in Coburg, in 1907 to Pirmasens, in 1908 to the Meininger Residenztheater, and in 1909 as an operetta singer at the Bochum City Theater. In 1910 he followed a call to Speyer, and 1911 to Wittenberge, where he was also allowed to stage plays as a director, and in 1912 to Munich, where he stayed until 1914 and also proved himself as a director and actor. Eugen Burg (6 January 1871 – 17 April 1944) was a German actor. His daughter was Hansi Burg. Burg was a close friend of the actor Hans Albers. Burg was born Eugen Hirschburg into a Jewish family, but later converted to Protestantism. He was banished from the film industry when the Nazi Party came to power in Germany. He later died in Theresienstadt concentration camp.
