Yelena Davydova
Yelena Viktorovna Davydova (russian: Еле́на Ви́кторовна Давы́дова; born 7 August 1961) is a Russian-Canadian gymnastics coach and judge who competed for the former Soviet Union. She was the women's artistic individual all-around champion at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. She's the owner and head coach at Gemini Gymnastics, a gymnastics club in Oshawa, Ontario. In July 2012, Davydova was one of the coaches of the Canadian Women's Artistic Gymnastics Team. In 2016 Davydova was head floor judge at the 2016 Rio Olympics. In October 2016, she was elected a member of the International Gymnastics Federation's Women Technical Committee. Alexander Davydov
Alexander Sergeevich Davydov (russian: Александр Сергеевич Давы́дов, uk, Олекса́ндр Сергі́йович Дави́дов) (26 December 1912 – 19 February 1993) was a Soviet and Ukrainian physicist. Davydov graduated from Moscow State University in 1939. In 1963-1990 he was Director of Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. His main contributions were in theory of absorption, scattering and dispersion of the light in molecular crystals. In 1948, he predicted the phenomenon that is known as ''Davydov splitting'' or ''factor-group splitting'', "the splitting of bands in the electronic or vibrational spectra of crystals due to the presence of more than one (interacting) equivalent molecular entity in the unit cell." Karl Davydov
Karl Yulievich Davydov (russian: Карл Юльевич Давидов; ) was a Russian cellist of great renown during his time, and described by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky as the "czar of cellists". He was also a composer, mainly for the cello. His name also appears in various different spellings: Davydov, Davidoff, Davidov, and more, with his first name sometimes written as Charles or Carl. Biography Davydov was the son of a Jewish physician and amateur violinist, Yuly Petrovich Davidhoff from Courland Governorate. Vladimir Davydov
Vladimir Davydov ( – ) was the second son of Lev and Alexandra Davydov, and nephew of the composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who called him "Bob". Life From his earliest years, Davydov showed an aptitude for music and drawing, which was encouraged by his uncle. After he studied at the Imperial School of Jurisprudence in Saint Petersburg, however, Bob decided on a military career and joined the Preobrazhensky Lifeguard regiment. He resigned his commission as a lieutenant in 1897Holden, 403. and moved to Klin, where he helped the composer's brother Modest create a museum to commemorate Tchaikovsky's life. Alexander Mikhaylovich Davydov (Александр Михайлович Давыдов, real name Israil Moiseyevich Levenson, Израиль Моисеевич Левенсон; March 25, 1872, - June 28, 1944) was a Russian and Soviet opera and operetta singer, later a theatre director, pedagogue and memoirist. In 1924 he was designated a Meritorious Artist of the Republic. Biography Israil Levenson was born in the town of Kobeliaky, Poltava Governorate, to the family of a Jewish teacher. Stepan Ivanovich Davydov (russian: Степа́н Ива́нович Давы́дов, uk, Степа́н Іва́нович Давидів born: January 12 S January 11777 – died: May 21 S May 91825 Moscow) was an Imperial Russian composer and singer. He was born in Chernihiv in the Russian Empire (present-day Ukraine). Biography When the principal choirboy of the Imperial Court Capella, he drew the attention of the Empress Catherine II, who consigned him to the care of the Italian composer Giuseppe Sarti (1729–1802). Alexander Davydov (soldier)
Alexander Yakovlevich Davydov ( Russian: Александр Яковлевич Давыдов; Kureika, November 6th 1917 – 1987) was a Soviet Red Army major and, allegedly, the illegitimate third son of Joseph Stalin. Biography Early life Stalin resided in the Siberian village of Kureika during his exile. Here he allegedly had an affair with 14-year-old Lidiya Platonovna Pereprygina. At the age of 16, she gave birth to Alexander. Stalin went out of exile and left Siberia before he was born. Pereprygina later married Yakov Semyonovich Davydov, who adopted Alexander. Stalin knew of Davydov's existence and allegedly tried twice to bring him to Moscow. However, they never met. World War II Davydov was drafted into the Red Army in August 1940. He participated in the Manchurian Campaign against the Japanese between March and August 1945. He achieved the rank of major.
