Davik (village)
Davik is a village in Bremanger Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located on the southern shore of the Nordfjorden, about west of the village of Isane and about east of the village of Rugsund. The village of Kjølsdalen lies across the fjord from Davik. The population of the village (in 2001) was about 330 residents. The village of Davik was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Davik which was in existence from 1838 until 1964 when it was dissolved and its lands were split between three other municipalities. Some of the municipal services were based in Davik village, while others were located in Bryggja which was a larger urban area. Davik Church is located in Davik village. Rugsund
Rugsund is a village in Bremanger Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located on the mainland along the shore of the Nordfjorden. The village is home to Rugsund Church, the local church for this part of the municipality. There has been a church here, serving the Rugsund parish since the middle ages. There is a bridge on the south side of the village that connects the mainland to the island of Rugsundøya, just to the west. Davik Church
Davik Church ( no, Davik kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bremanger Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Davik (village), village of Davik. It is the church for the Davik parish which is part of the Nordfjord prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1886 by the architect Georg Andreas Bull. The church seats about 500 people. It was consecrated on 6 July 1886 by the Bishop Fredrik Waldemar Hvoslef. The church was built near the site of a previous cruciform church which had become too small for the congregation. There was some controversy as to where the new (present) church was to be built. Bryggja
Bryggja is a village in southwestern part of Stad Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the mainland, along the northern shore of the Nordfjorden. The village is located about east of the urban areas of Måløy– Deknepollen– Tennebø in Kinn Municipality and it is about west of the village of Stårheim. The small village of Totland lies just west of Bryggja. The village has a population (2018) of 317 and a population density of . Davik
Davik is a former municipality in the traditional district of Nordfjord in the old Sogn og Fjordane county (now Vestland), Norway. The former municipality existed from 1838 until 1964 and it encompassed all the lands surrounding the outer part of the large Nordfjorden on both sides of the fjord. Davik was located in parts of the present-day municipalities of Kinn, Bremanger, and Stad. Kjølsdalen is a village in the municipality of Stad in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located on the northern shore of the Nordfjorden, about west of the village of Stårheim and about east of the village of Bryggja (in Vågsøy Municipality). The village of Davik lies about across the fjord from Kjølsdalen. The village is named after the Kjølsdalen valley in which it is located.
