Edgar Steven Davids (; born 13 March 1973) is a Dutch former professional association football, footballer. Davids was nicknamed "The Pitbull" because of his marking ability, aggression, and hard tackling style of play. After beginning his career with AFC Ajax, Ajax, winning several domestic and international titles, he subsequently played in Italy for AC Milan, and later enjoyed a successful spell with Juventus FC, Juventus, before being loaned out to FC Barcelona, Barcelona in 2004. He went on to play for Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur F.C., Tottenham Hotspur before returning to Ajax. Having struggled with injuries for two years, Davids returned to competitive football during a brief spell with Crystal Palace F.C., Crystal Palace before retiring at the age of 37. Arthur Percival Foley Rhys-Davids, (26 September 1897 – 27 October 1917) was an English flying ace of the First World War. Rhys-Davids was born in 1897 to a distinguished family. His father was a professional academic and his mother a prolific author, which afforded the young Rhys-Davids thorough schooling. He showed considerable potential in all subjects and was an excellent student. At the age of 14 Rhys-Davids joined Eton College as a King's Scholar. He gained his School Certificate (UK), School Certificate in July 1913 with higher marks than any other student. In 1914 war had broken out and in mid-1916 Rhys-Davids applied for a commission in the Royal Flying Corps. On 28 August 1916 he reported for training. Dorothy Davids (May 2, 1923 – October 4, 2014) was an American educator, educational services administrator, and a Native American and women's rights activist. She was an enrolled member of the Stockbridge–Munsee Community. Born in Red Springs, Wisconsin, she attended school in the Native American boarding school system. These schools did not allow students to speak their Native languages or practice their cultural traditions and focused on assimilating Indigenous people into mainstream society. After graduating from Bowler High School she studied at Central State Teacher's College (now the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point). The first Native American student to graduate from Stevens Point, she earned teaching credentials in 1945. Heintje Davids (13 February 1888 – 14 February 1975), born Hendrika David, was a prominent Dutch variety artist, known for her career as a singer and comedian from 1907 until her death. Performing under the name Henriëtte Davids, she gained widespread fame as Heintje Davids. Her most popular songs included "Zandvoort bij de zee," "Draait," and "Because I Love You So Much," the latter a duet with Sylvain Poons.
