Davide Ballerini (born 21 September 1994 in Cantù) is an Italian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . In May 2018, he was named in the startlist for the 2018 Giro d'Italia. He is not related to former two-time Paris–Roubaix winner Franco Ballerini. Cantù
Cantù (; Brianzöö: ) is a city and ''comune'' in the Province of Como, located at the center of the Brianza zone in Lombardy. It is the second largest city in Brianza. History The name could stem from that of the Canturigi, a population of Insubria of the 6th century BC. A village was founded here by Gauls in the following century, which was conquered by the Romans in 196 BC. In the Middle Ages Cantù was a source of conflict between the cities of Milan and Como. The Sforza of Milan took control permanently in the 15th century. Main sights The main attraction of Cantù is the Basilica di San Vincenzo in the ''frazione'' Galliano, which was consecrated in 1007 by the future Archbishop of Milan, Ariberto da Intimiano. The 2017 Tirreno–Adriatico was a road cycling stage race that took place between 8 and 14 March. It was the 52nd edition of the Tirreno–Adriatico and was the seventh event of the 2017 UCI World Tour. The race was won for the second time in three years by Colombian rider Nairo Quintana, riding for the .
