David Wise (cricketer)
David Arthur James Wise (born 23 March 1963) is a former English cricketer. Wise was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium pace. He was born in Tiddington, Oxfordshire. Wise made his debut for Oxfordshire in the 1983 Minor Counties Championship against Berkshire. Hale played Minor counties cricket for Oxfordshire from 1983 to 1996, which included 78 Minor Counties Championship matches and 17 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. He made his List A debut against Essex in the 1985 NatWest Trophy. He played 6 further List A matches, the last coming against Glamorgan in the 1993 NatWest Trophy. In his 7 List A matches, he scored 104 runs at a batting average of 28.80, with a high score of 68. This came against Glamorgan in his final List A match, with his innings being ended by Roland Lefebvre. He has also played Second XI cricket for the Worcestershire Second XI in 1985. Tiddington, Oxfordshire
Tiddington is a village in the civil parish of Tiddington-with-Albury, about west of Thame in Oxfordshire, England. It is on the A418 road between Thame and Oxford. The 2011 Census recorded Tiddington-with-Albury's population as 683. Tiddington is on the county boundary with Buckinghamshire. It was a manor and hamlet of the parish of Albury, although for most of its history it has been a larger place than Albury. In 1866 Tiddington became a separate civil parish, but in 1932 the two parishes were reunited. School It was recorded in 1786 that in 1737 Lady Mary Bertie, widow of the 2nd Earl of Abingdon had bequeathed £100 for a school in the parish of Albury. This was invested and used to support a schoolteacher, sometimes in Albury and other times in Tiddington. The Somerset Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English ceremonial county of Somerset. They play their home games at various grounds across Somerset, most often in Taunton, and are captained by Sophie Luff. Somerset consistently competed in either Division 1 or Division 2 of the Women's County Championship, and won Division 2 of the Women's Twenty20 Cup in 2019. Worcestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Worcestershire. Roland Lefebvre
Roland Philippe Lefebvre (born 7 February 1963), is a former Dutch cricketer and also former ODI captain for Netherlands. Although not exposed to many international games at the time, Lefebvre is considered one of the very few players from outside the Test-playing nations to achieve a significant career in the professional game. Domestic career Lefebvre made his first-class debut with Somerset against Oxford University in 1990, then took 5/30 on his first County Championship appearance the following week. Later that year he claimed 7/15 (at the time the equal fifth-best return in List A cricket) in Somerset's record 346-run victory against Devon in the NatWest Trophy. He spent the winter in New Zealand playing for Canterbury, where he achieved his career-best first-class bowling of 6/45, then back in England in 1991 scored his only first-class hundred, making exactly 100 against Worcestershire.
