Nelson Seymour Lougheed
Nelson Seymour Lougheed (April 16, 1882 – June 6, 1944) was a businessman and political figure in British Columbia. He represented Dewdney in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1928 to 1933 as a Conservative. He was born in Thornbury, Ontario in 1882 and came to British Columbia with his family in 1889. In 1905, Lougheed moved to Port Haney where he operated a sawmill in partnership with G.G. Abernethy. He was also active in mining and logging. Lougheed was mayor of Maple Ridge. He served in the provincial cabinet as Minister of Public Works from 1928 to 1929 and as Minister of Lands from 1930 to 1933. Frank Porter Patterson
Frank Porter Patterson (December 24, 1876 – February 10, 1938) was a physician and political figure in British Columbia. He represented Dewdney in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1937 to 1938 as a Conservative. Patterson served as leader of the Conservative Party from July 1936 until his death in 1938. He was born in St. John County, New Brunswick and was educated there and at McGill University, receiving an M.D. Patterson continued with post-graduate studies in Europe. He served as chief surgeon of the bone and joint department for the Vancouver General Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital. Patterson served in the Canadian Army Medical Corps during World War I. He ran unsuccessfully for the Vancouver-Burrard seat in the provincial assembly in a 1936 by-election. Patterson lived in Vancouver. Roderick Charles MacDonald (November 1885 – September 18, 1978) was a Scottish-born merchant and political figure in British Columbia. He represented Dewdney in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1941 to 1952 as a Conservative. He was born in North Uist, the son of Malcolm MacDonald and Mary A. MacAulay, and was educated there. He came to Canada in 1907, settling in Coquitlam. In 1915, MacDonald married D. E. Wiltshire. He was a member of the Coquitlam council, also serving as reeve from 1924 to 1941 and as president of the Union of British Columbia Municipalities. MacDonald served in the provincial cabinet as Minister of Mines and Minister of Municipal Affairs. He was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1952. Dewdney was a provincial electoral district in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Its predecessor was the riding of Westminster-Dewdney, which was created for the 1894 election from a partition of the Westminster riding, which was a rural-area successor to the original New Westminster riding, which was one of the province's first twelve. Ormstown, Quebec
Ormstown is a municipality in Quebec, Canada, which is situated on the Chateauguay River in the heart of the Chateauguay Valley. It is approximately one hour southwest of Montreal and 20 minutes north of New York State in the United States. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 3,595 of which Francophones comprise about 65%. Ormstown has two elementary schools, one high school ( Chateauguay Valley Regional), and two adult education facilities, several restaurants and churches.
