The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' in 2006, by order of first appearance. 2006 was a year when many families joined ''EastEnders''. Joanne Mary Joyner (born 24 May 1977) is an English actress. She is known for her roles as Tanya Branning in the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'' and Mandy Carter in Channel 4 drama '' Ackley Bridge''. Since 2018, she has starred as Luella Shakespeare in the BBC crime drama series '' Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators''. Lee Ross (actor)
Lee Ross (born 1970) is an English actor known for his roles as nice guy Kenny Phillips in the classic CITV dramedy '' Press Gang'' and as the violent and sadistic Owen Turner in the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders''. He is also known for his work in the drama series ''Dodger, Bonzo and the Rest'', '' Secrets & Lies'' and ''The Catherine Tate Show''. Owen Turner
Owen Turner is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'', played by Lee Ross. He originally appeared in the show on 15 June 2006 and left the show in late 2006. In 2009, it was announced that Ross would return to the show; he appeared on 30 July 2009. Ross' character made his final appearance on 26 November 2009 after being murdered by his ex-wife's new fiancé - Lucas Johnson (Don Gilet). Linda Henry
Linda Varilis (''née'' Henry; born 24 August 1959) is an English actress. She is known for her roles as Yvonne Atkins in the ITV drama '' Bad Girls'' and Shirley Carter in the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'', a role she has played since 2006. She had previously appeared in ''EastEnders'' as the original Lorraine Salter, the mother of Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton) from 1991 to 1992. Shirley Carter
Shirley Carter is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera '' EastEnders'', played by Linda Henry. She first appeared on 7 December 2006, during episodes set in Dorset. Amanda Drew
Amanda Drew (born 12 December 1969) is an English actress with extensive credits in theatre, television and film. Biography One of four children, Drew was born in Boston, Lincolnshire. Drew's mother was a nurse and her father was a vicar. When her parents moved to Leicestershire for work, Drew was educated at Beauchamp College in Oadby where she joined a youth theatre, playing Charity in ''Sweet Charity''. She later attended King's School, Ottery St. Mary, when her family moved to Devon.
