David Wade (Louisiana General)
David Wade (June 15, 1911 – May 11, 1990) was a decorated American lieutenant general from three wars who after military retirement on March 1, 1967, served in two appointed positions in the state government of his native Louisiana. The David Wade Correctional Center, a prison in Claiborne Parish, is named in his honor. Background Wade was born in Minden in Webster Parish, which had been created in 1871 from Claiborne Parish. He was reared in the Holly Springs community, known today primarily for a Baptist church and a cemetery located off U.S. Highway 79 between Minden and Homer in Claiborne Parish. He attended the long since defunct Harris High School and Homer Junior College and procured the Bachelor of Science in engineering from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston in Lincoln Parish. David Edward Wade (born 9 March 1950) is a former South Australian politician, who represented the Liberal Party for the Electoral district of Elder between 1993 and 1997. He was elected to the South Australian House of Assembly as the inaugural Member for Elder during the 1993 State Election and stood for one term, until defeated at the 1997 State Election by Labor's Patrick Conlon. David Wade Ross
David Wade Ross (born March 19, 1977) is an American former professional baseball catcher who is the current manager for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for 15 seasons in Major League Baseball. Ross played college baseball for Auburn University and the University of Florida and participated in two College World Series. He started his major league career playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2002 and also played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, and Chicago Cubs. Ross had two World Series wins, one with the Boston Red Sox in 2013 and the Chicago Cubs in 2016. The Cubs named him their manager prior to the 2020 season.
