David Usher
David Usher (born April 24, 1966) is a British-born Canadian musician, best-selling author, keynote speaker, and activist best known as the front man for the band Moist. He has also released a number of solo albums. He is the founder of Reimagine AI, an artificial intelligence creative studio. Early life David Usher was born in Oxford, England to Thai Buddhist artist Samphan Usher and Queen's University economics professor Dan Usher. He has lived in various places such as Malaysia, New York City, California and Thailand since early childhood, before his family settled in Kingston, Ontario. He attended high school at Kingston Collegiate and Vocational Institute at the same time that Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip and Hugh Dillon of the Headstones attended the school. Gordon Edgar Downie (February 6, 1964 – October 17, 2017) was a Canadian rock singer-songwriter, musician, writer and activist. He was the singer and lyricist for the Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip, which he fronted from its formation in 1984 until his death in 2017. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential and popular artists in Canadian music history. Jagori Tanna
Jagori Tanna (born ''Andrew Koshowski'', in Hamilton, Ontario) is a Canadian musician. Together with his brother, Christian Tanna, he formed I Mother Earth around 1990. He wrote almost all of I Mother Earth's music, and produced much of it as well. He won a Juno Award in 2000 for Best Recording Engineer (with Paul Northfield) for the band's singles "Summertime in the Void" and "When Did You Get Back From Mars?". Released in Canada on June 29, 1999, and in the United States a year later, it includes the hits "Breathe" and "Underground". The album debuted at #7 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. The album was released with different album covers for the Canadian and United States releases. The United States version has a yellow album cover while the Canadian release's cover is dark blue. This was Moist's last studio album before their 12-year hiatus began in 2001. ''Silver'' is the debut studio album by Canadian rock band Moist. The album cost approximately $4000 Canadian to make. It included the singles "Push", "Silver" and "Believe Me". The album reached #12 on The Record's Canadian Albums Chart. It is the band's most commercially successful album, being certified 4× Platinum in Canada. Recording and release In 1993, in an effort to get a record deal, the band decided to record a full-length album, which was done from December 26, 1993, to January 1, 1994; the album included five songs from Moist's 1993 independently released cassette.
