David Thiérrée
David Thiérrée is a French artist born in 1970 in La Rochelle (France). Self-taught, he has contributed since 1989 - 1990 to create images and logos for several metal bands, first for his own band Somberness, then for other bands, labels and fanzines worldwide, including Behemoth (band), Behemoth, Mütiilation, Mutiilation, Vlad Tepes (band), Vlad Tepes, Osculum infame, Osculum Infame, The Ancients Rebirth, Graveland, Warloghe, Malleus Maleficarum, and Anwyl. His works can also be seen on several materials from bands such as Gorgoroth (band), Gorgoroth, Mortiis, and Gehenna (band), Gehenna, or linked to the promotion of other bands, like Strid, and Enslaved (band), Enslaved,. Since 2000, he has been more focused on classic Fantasy illustration, and recently came back to artwork for metal bands. After their first demo, entitled ''Black Seared Heart'', Sir Vereda left the band due to legal problems, and was replaced by Dirge Rep. The band also enlisted Svartalv as bass player during this time. In 1994, Necromantic Gallery Productions released Gehenna's first 7-inch EP ''Ancestor of the Darkly Sky'', and the band signed and cancelled a deal with No Fashion Records; they entered a studio to record a full-length album in January 1994, but it was "cancelled due to NFR's lack of money". Enslaved is a Norwegian extreme metal band formed by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson in Haugesund in 1991. They are currently based in Bergen. The band's lineup has changed many times over the years, with Bjørnson and Kjellson being the sole constant members. Mortiis is an Electronic music, electronic band from Notodden, Norway fronted by Håvard Ellefsen, who is also known as the namesake of the band. The name is a misspelling of the word "mortis", which is the pronunciation used by the band. Mortiis started as the solo project of Ellefsen as a means to convey a story. Graveland are a Polish neo-Nazi pagan black metal band which was formed in 1991 by Rob Darken (born Robert Fudali). They began as a black metal band before adopting a pagan and Viking metal style. The lyrics and imagery of Graveland are strongly inspired by European mythology, nature, winter and war.
