David Stoll (composer)
David Michael Stoll (born December 1948) is an English composer and educator. Life and career David Stoll was born in London, and studied composition at Worcester College, Oxford University, and at the Royal Academy of Music. After completing his education, he has worked as a freelance composer for concert, theatrical, and TV/film music. Stoll is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He served as chairman of the Association of Professional Composers. In 1999 he was elected co-chair of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors The Ivors Academy (formerly known as British Academy of Songwriters Composers and Authors – BASCA) is one of the largest professional associations for music writers in Europe. A composer is a person who writes music. The term is especially used to indicate composers of Western classical music, or those who are composers by occupation. Worcester College
Worcester College ( ) is a constituent college of the University of Oxford in England. The college was founded in 1714 by the benefaction of Sir Thomas Cookes, 2nd Baronet (1648–1701) of Norgrove, Worcestershire, whose coat of arms was adopted by the college. Its predecessor, Gloucester College, had been an institution of learning on the same site since the late 13th century until the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1539.
