David Redmond
David Redmond (born 19 September 1987) is an Irish hurler. His league and championship career with the Wexford senior team lasted eleven seasons from 2007 until 2017. Born in The Ballagh, County Wexford, Redmond first played competitive hurling and Gaelic football at juvenile and underage levels with Oulart–The Ballagh. After much success in these grades he later joined the club's senior team. Since then he has won one Leinster medal and eight county senior championship medal. Redmond made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he was selected for the Wexford minor team. His sole season with the minor team ended without success. Redmond subsequently enjoyed an unsuccessful period with the Wexford under-21 team, however, his tenure with the intermediate team yielded an All-Ireland medal in 2007. Oulart–The Ballagh GAA
Oulart–The Ballagh is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Wexford, Ireland. The club takes its players primarily from the area around the villages of Oulart and The Ballagh. The club has won the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship on 13 occasions, most recently in 2016. Their main rivals are Buffers Alley. Wexford Senior Hurling Championship
The Wexford Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Pettitt's SuperValu Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Wexford GAA clubs. The Wexford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1889. Rapparees are the title holders ( 2022) after defeating St Martin's by 1-20 to 0-22 in the final. 2007 All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 2007 All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 24th staging of the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1961. The championship began on 27 May 2007 and ended on 25 August 2007. Cork entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Clare in the Munster quarter-final. The All-Ireland final was played on 25 August 2007 at Nowlan Park in Kilkenny, between Wexford and Waterford, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. Wexford won the match by 1-11 to 1-09 to claim their fourth championship title overall and a first title since 2005. Waterford's Shane Casey was the championship's top scorer with 5-13. Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands).
