David Posey
David Ellsworth Posey (born April 1, 1956) is a former American football Placekicker, kicker who played for the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Florida University. Early life and education When Posey was in St. Andrews high school, the Miami Dolphins trained at his campus while he was there, making him friends with many Dolphins players. Also because of that, he was trained by All-Pro Miami Dolphins starting kicker Garo Yepremian and Miami Dolphins backup kicker Karl Kremser. He was both a kicker and punter in high school. He was ''The Heralds 'Offensive Player of The Week' in Palm Beach County twice. Posey came to Florida University with no scholarship, being a walk-on. Placekicker
Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points. In many cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist or punter. Specialized role The kicker initially was not a specialized role. Prior to the 1934 standardization of the prolate spheroid shape of the ball, drop kicking was the prevalent method of kicking field goals and conversions, but even after its replacement by place kicking, until the 1960s the kicker almost always doubled at another position on the roster. George Blanda, Lou Groza, Frank Gifford and Paul Hornung are prominent examples of players who were stars at other positions as well as being known for their kicking abilities. Karl Kremser
Karl Friedrich Kremser (born August 3, 1945) is a German American former football placekicker for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL) and retired college soccer coach from Florida International University. He played college soccer for the United States Military Academy and college football for the University of Tennessee. He was chosen by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the 1969 NFL Draft. Early life Kremser was born in Salzwedel in the Soviet occupation zone of Germany shortly after the end of World War II to Reichsdeutsche parents born in Latvia. His father was drafted into the German Army and fought on the Russian front. While his father was in the army, Kremser's family fled to Germany, to avoid the incoming Red Army. The Tennessee Titans are a professional American football team based in Nashville, Tennessee. 1978 NFL Season
The 1978 NFL season was the 59th regular season of the National Football League. The league expanded the regular season from a 14-game schedule to 16 games, which it remained in place until 2021 when it was increased to 17 games.
