New Africa Books is a South African book publisher based in Cape Town. The company incorporates David Philip Publishers, one of South Africa's oldest and most influential independent publishers. New Africa Books currently publishes literary and educational books for adults, children and young adults. It is one of the very few publishing imprints in South Africa to publish books in all 11 official South African languages. History David Philip Publishers was originally founded in 1971 by David Philip and his wife and business partner Marie Philip, with the aim of publishing “books that matter for Southern Africa” and that challenged the apartheid regime. The'' Sunday Times'' is South Africa's biggest Sunday newspaper. Established in 1906, the ''Sunday Times'' is distributed all over South Africa and in neighbouring countries such as Lesotho, Botswana, and Eswatini. History The ''Sunday Times'' was first published on 4 February 1906 as a weekly, sister publication of the '' Rand Daily Mail'' which at the time was "standing alone" against its rival ''Transvaal Leader''. Founding editor George Herbert Kingswell introduced the slogan "A Paper for the People". It was later changed to "The Paper for the People", a slogan that is still in use today. Mohale Mashigo
Mohale Mashigo, born Kgomotso Carol Mashigo (and also known by her stage name Black Porcelain) is a South African singer-songwriter, novelist, and former radio presenter. Her debut novel ''The Yearning'' (Pan Macmillan, 2016) won the 2017 University of Johannesburg Prize for South African Debut Writing and was longlisted for the International Dublin Literary Award 2018. Zulu Language
Zulu (), or isiZulu as an endonym, is a Southern Bantu language of the Nguni branch spoken in Southern Africa. It is the language of the Zulu people, with about 12 million native speakers, who primarily inhabit the province of KwaZulu-Natal of South Africa. Xhosa (, ) also isiXhosa as an endonym, is a Nguni language and one of the official languages of South Africa and Zimbabwe. Xhosa is spoken as a first language by approximately 8.2 million people and by another 11 million as a second language in South Africa, mostly in Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Northern Cape and Gauteng. Shaka Sisulu is a South African social and political activist, entrepreneur and media personality. Career Shaka Sisulu has co-founded and worked in various media and IT ventures, including the telecommunications wing of $300m ITEC group.
