David Perlmutter (linguist)
David Perlmutter is a Naples, Florida–based American celebrity doctor and author. Early life Perlmutter's father Irwin was a Miami neurosurgeon. David Perlmutter received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He is also a fellow of the American College of Nutrition. Career Perlmutter is the author of health books, and is known for advocating a functional and holistic approach toward treating brain disorders and for advocating for the importance of dietary changes. Perlmutter serves as a medical advisor for ''The Dr. Oz Show'' and Men's Health''.'' Perlmutter wrote the book ''Grain Brain,'' released in September 2013, promoting the concept that gluten causes neurological conditions, which was on the New York Times bestseller list for several weeks. Uric acid is a heterocyclic compound of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen with the formula C5H4N4O3. It forms ions and salts known as urates and acid urates, such as ammonium acid urate.
