David Lebryk
David Allen Lebryk is an American former government official who served as Fiscal Assistant Secretary of the Treasury between 2014 and 2025. For 11 days in January 2025, he served as Acting United States Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of the Treasury and United States Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury. Early life and education Lebryk was born in Indiana. He graduated from Valparaiso High School, in Valparaiso, Indiana. He studied at the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka. He received his B.A. and M.P.A. from Harvard University. The Bureau of the Fiscal Service (Fiscal Service) is a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Fiscal Service replaced the Bureau of the Public Debt and the Financial Management Service effective October 7, 2012 by directive of Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. The Bureau manages the government's accounting, central payment systems, and public debt. Among some of its better known duties is to collect any voluntary donations made to the government for reduction of the public debt. The amount of such reductions has hovered around two million dollars per year, and have been widely variable.
