David Kennedy (born 1964) is a British actor, known for his role as Dirk Savage in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks''. Career Since graduating from Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in 1992, Kennedy has appeared in over 50 television dramas including '' Ashes to Ashes'', ''Trial & Retribution'', ''Ultimate Force'', ''The Bill'', '' London's Burning'', ''Rose and Maloney'', '' Waking the Dead'', and ''Holby City''. David Kennedy (astronomer)
David Kennedy (27 April 1864 – 10 March 1936) was born at Lyttelton, New Zealand, the son of an Irish mother and a Scottish father who came to New Zealand from Melbourne in 1863. He became the first New Zealand born priest of the Society of Mary (Marists), a noted astronomer and educator. As a boy he showed a keen interest in both theology and science. Because of his undoubted intelligence and promise he was sent to study at the Marist college at Dundalk, Ireland in 1878. In 1884 he entered the Marist novitiate at Paignton, England, and in 1886 he was awarded BA at the Royal University of Ireland in mathematics and science. For the following two years he taught at his old school in Dundalk, during which time he wrote a textbook, Natural philosophy for junior students, covering a variety of scientific topics including mechanics, hydrostatics, pneumatics, gravity and motion. David Franklin Kennedy (May 31, 1939 – October 10, 2021) was an American advertising executive who co-founded Wieden+Kennedy (W+K). Some of his most popular campaigns included the "Just Do It", "Bo Knows", and the "Mars and Mike" campaigns for Nike, Inc. He and his creative partner Dan Wieden were listed as number 22 on the ''Advertising Age'' 100 ad people of the 20th century. Early life Kennedy was born in Wichita, Kansas, on May 31, 1939. He was the only child of Melinda Jane (nee Spoon) and James Franklin Kennedy. His mother was an administrator in a bank while his father was in the petroleum industry. He grew up in Oklahoma and on the eastern Rocky Mountains. He likened his early childhood to that of Tom Sawyer in the wild outdoors with idyllic streams and rivers. David Kennedy (10 July 1890 – 1 July 1916) was a Scottish first-class cricketer and soldier. He was a right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper. He was killed in the Battle of the Somme. Life and career Kennedy was born in July 1890 in Uddingston. Educated at Uddingston Grammar School and Jordanhill Teacher Training College, he became a schoolteacher at Townhead School after graduating from the latter. Kennedy made his debut in first-class cricket representing Scotland against Ireland at Observatory Lane on 16 July 1914. He scored 11 runs during the match. At the outbreak of the First World War in August 1914, Kennedy enlisted in the Glasgow Commercials of the Highland Light Infantry and soon rose to the rank of sergeant. Shortly afterwards he was sent to the frontline in France, he was killed on 1 July 1916 at the Leipzig Salient on the first day on the Somme. David Kennedy (born 14 February 1949) is an English former professional footballer who played as a winger. He made more than 250 appearances in The Football League for Tranmere Rovers, Chester and Torquay United. Playing career Kennedy began his career as an apprentice with Tranmere Rovers in his home town of Birkenhead. He turned professional in May 1967 and went on to make 17 league appearances over the next three years.
