David Jolley
David Jolley is a horn soloist and chamber musician. Jolley studied at the Juilliard School in New York. Primarily known for playing the Classical repertoire, Jolley also plays modern music. His discography includes a recording of two Mozart horn concertos with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. He is currently on the faculty of Mannes School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, and Queens College, City University of New York. A horn is any of a family of musical instruments made of a tube, usually made of metal and often curved in various ways, with one narrow end into which the musician blows, and a wide end from which sound emerges. The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra (founded 1972) is a classical music chamber orchestra based in New York City. They have won several Grammy Awards. The orchestra is known for its collaborative leadership style in which the musicians, not a conductor, interpret the score. Mannes School of Music is a music conservatory in The New School, a private research university in New York City. In the fall of 2015, Mannes moved from its previous location on Manhattan's Upper West Side to join the rest of the New School campus in Arnhold Hall at 55 W. 13th Street. The Manhattan School of Music (MSM) is a private music conservatory in New York City. The school offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in the areas of classical and jazz performance and composition, as well as a bachelor's in musical theatre.
