David Johansson (16 August 1926 – 24 September 2005), called Dalle, was a Swedish cross-country skier who won the 38th Vasaloppet ski race in 1961 in a new record time of 4 hours, 45 minutes and 10 seconds. Delsbo
Delsbo () is a locality in Hudiksvall Municipality, Gävleborg County, Sweden, with 2,192 inhabitants in 2010. It is situated some 25 kilometers west of Hudiksvall, in the vicinity of the two lakes of Dellen. The town is known for its assembly of musicians at Delsbo Ancient Farm (''Delsbo Forngård'') every year. Villages Research conducted in 2005 revealed that Delsbo has the highest density of villages in Sweden. Approximately 104 different villages are scattered around the Delsbo community, among them the villages Ava, Johannesberg, Loppet, Långbacka, Norrberg, Norrväna, Oppsjö, Sannäs, Stenbo, Vitterarv and Västanäng. Vasaloppet
(Swedish for 'the Vasa-race') is an annual long distance cross-country ski race held on the first Sunday of March. The course starts in the village of Berga, just south of Sälen in western Dalarna, Sweden, and ends in the town of Mora in the central part of the province. It is the oldest cross-country ski race in the world, as well as the one with the highest number of participants. The race was inspired by a notable journey King Gustav Vasa made from Mora to Sälen when he was fleeing from Christian II's soldiers during the winter of 1520–1521 in the beginning of the Swedish War of Liberation. According to legend, he fled on skis. The modern competition started in 1922 and it has been a part of the Worldloppet events since 1979. Bernt Thomas Magnuson (also Magnusson, born 2 July 1950) is a retired Swedish cross-country skier. He competed at the 1972 Winter Olympics in the 30 km and the 4 × 10 km relay and placed 28th and fourth, respectively. He won three medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, including golds in the 30 km (1974) and the 4 × 10 km relay (1978) and a bronze in the 50 km (1974).
