David Huffman (artist)
David Huffman (born 1963) is an American painter, installation artist, and educator. He is known for works that combine science fiction aesthetics with a critical focus on the political exploration of identity. Early life and education David Huffman was born and raised in Berkeley, California. His mother Dolores Davis was an activist who supported various local causes in the 60s, including the Black Panthers for whom she designed the iconic Free Huey flag. Huffman was exposed to science fiction early, in the form of television shows such as Star Trek, Astroboy and Shogun Warriors. Huffman studied in New York and San Francisco receiving his MFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts. Contemporary art is a term used to describe the art of today, generally referring to art produced from the 1970s onwards. John Havemeyer Tilton Jr (April 25, 1951 – May 7, 2017) (known as Jack Tilton) was an American art dealer based in New York City who in 1983 founded Jack Tilton Gallery. Tilton Gallery continues to operate under Rogers Tilton's direction at 8 East 76th Street in New York City. Early life Tilton was born in Littleton, New Hampshire to Marjory Seidler, a homemaker, and John, Sr., who had studied art at Yale University, designed Christmas cards, and served in the New Hampshire Legislature. Tilton was educated at Tilton School (no family connection) and earned a bachelor's degree in business from Babson College in 1974. De Saisset Museum
The de Saisset Museum at Santa Clara University opened in 1955, after Isabel de Saisset, the last member of a California pioneer family bequeathed her estate to the University of Santa Clara. The museum owns nearly 10,000 art pieces and historical artifacts, including the work of early Californian artist and university alumnus Ernest de Saisset and a considerable collection of California mission artifacts.
