David Heath (politician)
David William St John Heath (born 16 March 1954) is a British optometrist and Liberal Democrat politician. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Somerton and Frome from 1997 to 2015. He served as the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food from September 2012 to October 2013 in the Cameron–Clegg coalition government. Early life Heath was born in Westbury-sub-Mendip in the Mendip Hills of Somerset. He was educated at Millfield Preparatory School and then Millfield School, an independent school in Street, Somerset. He then studied at St John's College at the University of Oxford, where he was awarded an MA in Physiological Sciences. He went on to study Ophthalmic Optics at the City University, London. Paul Archer Tyler, Baron Tyler, (born 29 October 1941) is a Liberal Democrat politician in the United Kingdom. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) from February to October 1974 and from 1992 to 2005, and sat in the House of Lords as a life peer until October 2021. The Mendip Hills (commonly called the Mendips) is a range of limestone hills to the south of Bristol and Bath, Somerset, Bath in Somerset, England. Running from Weston-super-Mare and the Bristol Channel in the west to the River Frome, Somerset, Frome valley in the east, the hills overlook the Somerset Levels to the south and the Chew Valley and other tributaries of the River Avon (Bristol), Avon to the north. Optometry is the healthcare practice concerned with examining the eyes for visual defects, prescribing corrective lenses, and detecting eye abnormalities. Westbury-sub-Mendip
Westbury-sub-Mendip is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England. The village is on the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, from Wells and Cheddar. The parish boundary is formed by the River Axe. History There is evidence, from flint finds, of occupation of a site, known as Westbury Sleight during the Mesolithic period, which fieldwork during 2007 suggested was a platform cairn with field banks of Bronze Age date. In 1969 traces of an infilled cave were discovered in a limestone quarry which produced numerous bones from extinct animals and flakes of flint and chert. Westbury-sub-Mendip was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as ''Westberie'', meaning 'The west hill under the Mendip Hills' from the Old English ''west'' and ''beorg''. David Warburton
David John Warburton (born 28 October 1965) is a British former politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Somerton and Frome from 2015 until his resignation in 2023.
