David Hayes (soccer)
David Hayes (born May 24, 1976, in Waldorf, Maryland) is an American association football, soccer player who most recently played for FC Tampa Bay in the North American Soccer League (2011), North American Soccer League. Hayes began his professional career in Major League Soccer with D.C. United. His tenure at the highest level was short-lived, as he primarily served as a substitute, and was subsequently loaned out most of the time to the United Soccer Leagues. Hayes' career rejuvenated when he stayed permanently at the USL First Division, particularly with Atlanta Silverbacks and Portland Timbers (2001–10), Portland Timbers. His achievements included winning the Commissioner's Cup, earning the ''Defender of the Year award'', and receiving All-League honors for three consecutive years. Waldorf is a census-designated place in Charles County, Maryland, United States. Located south-southeast of Washington, D.C., Waldorf is part of Southern Maryland. Jay Nolly
Jay Nolly (born January 2, 1982) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a goalkeeper. College Nolly played college soccer at Indiana University where he backstopped the Hoosiers to back-to-back national championships in 2003 and 2004 and was named All-Big Ten in his last three seasons. Professional career Real Salt Lake drafted Nolly in the second round of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft and he saw limited action with the team in his rookie season. After the 2006 season, he was dealt to D.C. United in a deal that involved Freddy Adu and Nick Rimando. Atlanta Silverbacks Women was an American women's soccer team that played from 2005 until 2016. The team played in the USL W-League from 2005 until the league folded after the 2015 season. For the 2016 season they played in the Women's Premier Soccer League. They won the W-League championship in 2011 and the WPSL Southeast championship in 2016. 2009 United Soccer Leagues
The 2009 season is the 23rd season played by the United Soccer Leagues. Season titles will be contested by 20 professional men's clubs in the USL First Division and USL Second Division, as well as 37 professional and amateur women's clubs in the W-League and 68 professional and amateur men's teams in the USL Premier Development League. The First Division season kicked off on April 11 with the US Open Cup finalist Charleston Battery and host defending champions Vancouver Whitecaps FC playing to a scoreless tie, while the Carolina RailHawks defeated the visiting Minnesota Thunder 2–1. The Seattle Sounders were an American professional Association football, soccer team that was founded in 1994 and played in several United States soccer pyramid, second-division leagues, beginning with the American Professional Soccer League. They played in the A-League (1995–2004), A-League, later renamed the USL First Division, from 1997 to 2008. Greg Simmonds
Gregory Simmonds (born 16 December 1975) is a retired Jamaican soccer player who played professionally in the USL First Division. Simmonds attended Howard University, playing on the men's soccer team from 1995 to 1998. He graduated as the all-time leading scorer for the Bison. In 1999, Simmonds turned professional with the Hershey Wildcats of the USL A-League. He scored sixteen goals that season and was selected as the A-League Rookie of the Year. His scoring touch led to D.C. United calling him up in January 2000 for two games in the 2000 CONCACAF Champions' Cup. He came on for Jaime Moreno in a 17 January 2000 victory over L.D. Alajuelense. The USL First Division (USL-1) was a professional men's soccer league in the second tier of the United States league system. It was organized by the United Soccer League as its premier league for men from 1996 to 2010, above the USL Second Division. NCAA Division II (D-II) is the intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It offers an alternative to both the larger and better-funded Division I and to the scholarship-free environment offered in Division III.
