Sir David John Stowell Hancock, KCB (27 March 1934 – 24 September 2013) was an English civil servant. Educated at Balliol College, Oxford, he entered the civil service in 1957 as an official in the Board of Trade; he moved to HM Treasury in 1959 and spent 1965–66 as a Harkness Fellow at the Brookings Institution and Harvard University. He was private secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1968 to 1970, then financial and economic counsellor to the permanent representative to the European Communities until 1974. He was at the Treasury until 1982, when he was made head of the European Secretariat at the Cabinet Office. David Jeffrey Hancock (24 July 1938 – 6 June 2007) was an English professional footballer. He was born in Exeter, Devon and played for all three of the county's professional football teams as well as for the National Team, England. Hancock began his career as a junior with Plymouth Argyle, turning professional in September 1955. He played twice in the league for Argyle during the 1956–57 season, but failed to make any further appearances and left to join Torquay United in January 1959. He made 177 league appearances for Torquay, scoring twelve goals, and played in the 1959–60 promotion winning side. David Arthur Hancock (born 28 March 1940) is a former English cricketer. Hancock was a left-handed batsman. He was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Hancock made his debut for Staffordshire in the 1958 Minor Counties Championship against the Yorkshire Second XI. Hancock played Minor counties cricket for Staffordshire from 1958 to 1983, which included 204 Minor Counties Championship matches. In his entire Minor Counties Championship career for Staffordshire, he scored 9,303 runs at an average of 27.93, making 51 half centuries and 8 centuries, which included a high score of 148. He made his List A debut for Staffordshire against Glamorgan in the 1971 Gillette Cup. David A. Hancock (born April 25, 1945) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represented District 2A in northwestern Minnesota. Early life, education, and career Hancock attended Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1968. He enlisted in the United States Army from 1969–1971, serving as an operating room technician and combat medic at Fort Sill near Lawton, Oklahoma.
