David Eggby
David Eggby, A.C.S. (born 1950) is an English-born Australian cinematographer. Eggby was born in 1950 in London, but has lived in Melbourne since childhood. He received the Cinematographer of the Year Award (2001) and the Golden Tripod from the Australian Cinematographers Society, both for his work on the film '' Pitch Black''. Beginning his career as a photographer for the Royal Australian Navy, Eggby then moved on to work for Australian television production company Crawford Productions, working on such shows as ''Homicide'' and ''Matlock Police''. David Stevens (screenwriter)
David Stevens (22 December 1940 – 17 July 2018) was an Australian writer and director, best known for his work on ''Breaker Morant'', '' A Town Like Alice'', and ''The Sum of Us''. Biography Stevens was born in 1940, in Tiberias, Palestine where his father was an aircraft engineer working on flying boats. In 1960, he left to emigrate to Australia, however his ship was diverted to New Zealand where he remained, until moving to Australia in the early 1970s. Stevens co-wrote ''Breaker Morant'' with Bruce Beresford and Jonathan Hardy, earning an Oscar nomination. He wrote the play ''The Sum of Us'', which ran in New York for a year and won the Outer Critics Circle Award. He adapted it into a feature film, featuring Russell Crowe and Jack Thompson, which won an Australian Film Institute Award for Best Screenplay. Plot Wade Corey (Andrew McCarthy) is on his way to a friend's wedding in New York City when his car burns up in Utah, leaving him stranded. Brian Medwin Trenchard-Smith (born 1946) is an English-Australian filmmaker and author, known for his idiosyncratic and satirical low-budget genre films. His filmography covers action, science fiction, martial arts, dystopian fiction, comedy, war, family, thriller, romance and erotica, and his works tend to be cross-genre pieces. After gaining experience as a writer and editor of film trailers, Trenchard-Smith made documentary films for Australian television, many of which focused on stunt performers and martial artists, including his frequent collaborator Grant Page. Plot An American boy, Cody (Thomas), whose parents have died, lives in Australia with his guardian, Gaza. Cody is very imaginative, inventive, and inquisitive. He builds things in his garage, including a railbike which he uses to get around. Cody comes across some strange events happening in Devil's Knob national park associated with an Aboriginal myth about "Frog Dreamings" and Bunyips, terrifying water monsters that prey on humans. Timothy Burstall AM (20 April 1927 – 19 April 2004) was an English Australian film director, writer and producer, best known for hit Australian movie '' Alvin Purple'' (1973) and its sequel '' Alvin Rides Again''. Burstall's films featured early appearances by many legendary Australian actors including Jack Thompson, Bruce Spence, Jacki Weaver, ''Alvin'' star Graeme Blundell, John Waters and Judy Davis. Ken Hannam (12 July 1929 – 16 November 2004) was an Australian film and television director who also worked in British television drama. Career Born in St Kilda, Melbourne, the eldest of three boys, Hannam lived in his youth in Sydney and was educated at Wollaroi College in Orange, New South Wales. Donald Charles Crombie (born 5 July 1942) is an Australian film and television director and screenwriter. Born in Brisbane, Crombie was educated at the Anglican Church Grammar School and studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art. Crombie started work at the Commonwealth Film Unit in 1963.
