David D. King (jurist)
David D. King was the former Administrative Judge of the New Hampshire Circuit Court. He retired from the position of Administrative Judge on July 1, 2024 and continues to serve as a Senior Active Status Judge. Early life and education King is a 1981 graduate of Plymouth State College and received his J.D. from the Franklin Pierce Law Center (now UNH School of Law) in 1984. Legal career King was a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives and in 1984 was a delegate to the state's 17th Constitutional Convention. In 1985, he was hired by attorney Philip Waystack, and later became a partner in the firm of Waystack & King in Colebrook, New Hampshire. In 1990, he was appointed as the presiding judge in the Coos County Probate Court. In 2007, he left Waystack & King to become a full-time judge. New Hampshire Circuit Court District Division
The New Hampshire Circuit Court District Division is the "community court" of the U.S. state of New Hampshire, made up of one circuit for each County and is located in 36 cities and towns. The District Division has jurisdiction over all juvenile matters, domestic violence cases, violation and misdemeanor level offenses, small claims, landlord- tenant issues and other civil cases. Upon the creation of the District Court in 1963, the state Municipal Courts were effectively abolished. The New Hampshire Bar Association (NHBA) is the integrated (mandatory) bar association of the U.S. state of New Hampshire. History NHBA's lineage extends back to county bar chapters such as New Hampshire's Grafton County Bar Association which in 1793 examined candidates for admission to the bar; a statewide meeting of New Hampshire bar members occurred in 1788. In 1873, a special act of the Legislature established "The Bar Association of the State of New Hampshire" as a voluntary membership organization, making it the oldest statewide bar organization in the United States. Its first President was Ira Perley. In 1967, NHBA petitioned the Legislature to amend its acts of incorporation to change its name to "New Hampshire Bar Association".
