David Cross
David Cross (born April 4, 1964) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and director. Cross is best known for his stand-up performances, the HBO sketch comedy series '' Mr. Show with Bob and David'' (1995–1998), his role as Ian Hawke in the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise, and his role as Tobias Fünke in the Fox/Netflix sitcom ''Arrested Development'' (2003–2006, 2013–2019). He has been described as “one of the defining figures of cult Gen X comedy”. Alvin and the Chipmunks, originally David Seville and the Chipmunks and billed for their first two decades as the Chipmunks, are an American animated virtual band and media franchise first created by Ross Bagdasarian for Novelty records in 1958. The group consists of three singing animated anthropomorphic chipmunk brothers named Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.
