David Collins (born October 12, 1969) is an American rower and Olympic bronze medalist. He was born in Thousand Oaks, California Thousand Oaks is the second-largest city in Ventura County, California, located in the northwestern part of Greater Los Angeles. A seven-time national rowing champion, Dave won a bronze medal at the 1996 Olympics as a member of the U.S. rowing team. Dave also received a gold medal at the 1995 Pan American Games and a bronze medal at the 1991 World Rowing Championships. Dave was inducted into the United States National Rowing Hall of Fame and Rutgers University's Olympic Hall of Fame. Rowing, often called crew American English, in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using Oar (sport rowing), oars. It differs from paddling sports in that rowing oars (called blades in the United Kingdom) are attached to the boat using Rowlock, rowlocks, while paddles are not connected to the boat.
