David Burke (born 25 May 1934) is an English actor, known for playing Dr. John Watson in the initial series of Granada Television's 1980s '' The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes'', which starred Jeremy Brett in the title role. David Burke (born 7 January 1990) is an Irish hurler who plays as a midfielder or half forward for the Galway senior team. Burke joined the team in 2010 and immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. He has won one Leinster winners' medal and two National Hurling League winners' medal. In his later life, Burke became rather eccentric, preferring the privations of life away from his native England. Davy Burke (born 5 February 1988) is a Gaelic football manager and former player. He has been manager of the Roscommon county team since 2022. He formerly managed Wicklow.
