Dave Wojcik
David Edward Wojcik (born December 12, 1968) is an American basketball coach who is currently head boys' basketball coach at the Linsly School. He previously was a college basketball coach, most recently head men's basketball coach at San Jose State from 2013 to 2017. Early life and college playing career A native of Wheeling, West Virginia, Dave Wojcik graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School in 1987. At Wheeling Central Catholic, Wojcik played point guard and was a McDonald's Honorable Mention All-American selection as a senior. Wojcik then attended Loyola College in Baltimore and played on the Loyola Greyhounds men's basketball team for four seasons, under coach Mark Amatucci from 1987 to 1989 then Tom Schneider from 1989 to 1991. In his freshman season, Wojcik played 29 games with 8 starts and averaged 3.2 points and 1.2 rebounds. San Jose State Spartans Men's Basketball
The San Jose State Spartans men's basketball team represents San José State University in NCAA Division I college basketball as a member of the Mountain West Conference. History The SJSU men's basketball team played its first recorded game in 1909. The team has won 10 conference championships, appeared in the NCAA tournament three times, appeared once in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), and twice in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI). From the 1930s to 1976, the team played home games at the on-campus Spartan Gym. Starting in 1961, the team also played home games at the off-campus San Jose Civic Auditorium. Linsly School
The Linsly School, formerly known as the Linsly Military Institute, is a boarding and day school located in Wheeling, West Virginia. It was founded in 1814 by Noah Linsly and chartered by the State of Virginia in the same year. The school is the oldest preparatory school west of the Alleghenies. It was originally known as the Lancastrian Academy. History Upon Noah Linsly's death in 1814, his will provided money for the establishment of a Lancastrian Academy in Wheeling, Virginia. In 1877, the Academy, located in the then newly-formed state of West Virginia, was renamed the Linsly Military Institute in honor of its founding benefactor. Horizon League
The Horizon League is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I, Division I. Headquartered in Indianapolis, the league's eleven member schools are located in and near the Great Lakes region and in part of the Southern United States. Skip Prosser
George Edward "Skip" Prosser (November 3, 1950 – July 26, 2007) was an American college basketball coach who was head men's basketball coach at Wake Forest University at the time of his death. He is the only coach in NCAA history to take three separate schools to the NCAA tournament in their first year coaching. In 21 years as a collegiate coach, he made 18 postseason appearances. Previously, he coached Xavier University for seven seasons, where he achieved great success. He spent his first year coaching at the collegiate level at Loyola College in Maryland, taking the Greyhounds to the team's first modern-day NCAA Tournament appearance. Prosser was the Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2003. National Collegiate Basketball Hall Of Fame
The National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame, located in Kansas City, Missouri, is a hall of fame and museum dedicated to men's college basketball. The museum is an integral portion of the College Basketball Experience created by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), located at the T-Mobile Center. The hall is meant as a complement to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, with a focus strictly on those who have contributed greatly to college basketball. Lefty Driesell
Charles Grice "Lefty" Driesell (December 25, 1931 – February 17, 2024) was an American college basketball coach. He was the first coach to win more than 100 games at four different NCAA Division I schools, Driesell led the programs of Davidson College, the University of Maryland, James Madison University, and Georgia State University. He earned a reputation as "the greatest program builder in the history of basketball." Triple-double
In basketball, a double-double is a single-game performance in which a player accumulates ten or more in two of the following five statistical categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots. The first "double" in the term refers to the two (''double'') categories and the second "double" refers to accumulating ten or more (typically ''double'' digits) in that category. Similarly, a player records a triple-double, quadruple-double, and quintuple-double when accumulating ten or more in three, four, or all five of the statistical categories, respectively.
