Dave Farrell (musician)
David Michael Farrell (born February 8, 1977), also known by his stage name Phoenix, is an American musician, best known as the bassist of the rock band Linkin Park. He was also a member of Tasty Snax, a ska punk band. Early life Farrell was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts but later moved to Mission Viejo, California at the age of five. He was taught how to play guitar by his mother when he was in high school. He also played the violin in high school. Farrell attended University of California, Los Angeles, UCLA, where he was roommates with future bandmate Brad Delson. He graduated from UCLA with a degree in philosophy. Career Tasty Snax While attending high school, Farrell joined a Christian ska punk band named Tasty Snax, who would later rename themselves to The Snax. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as All-Music Guide by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. "Crawling" is a song by American rock band Linkin Park. It is the second single from their debut album, ''Hybrid Theory'', and is the fifth track on the album. It was released on March 1, 2001, as their second single and won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2002. In January 2011, "Crawling" was released in a Linkin Park DLC pack for '' Rock Band 3''. Background "Crawling" is one of the few songs on ''Hybrid Theory'' that do not prominently feature Mike Shinoda's rap sung lyrics. The intro to "Crawling" has been remixed in live versions over the years. From Zero (album)
From Zero was a nu metal band from Chicago, Illinois. History Formation and major label debut From Zero was formed in 1998. From Zero's music was distinguished from many earlier nu metal groups with its greater focus on melodies and correspondingly fewer elements of rap metal. In 1999, the band independently released their self-titled EP (referred to as "The Green Album"). The album locally sold over 6,000 copies and attracted the attention of major record labels. They later signed with Arista Records and began opening for bands such as Disturbed. Their first album, '' One Nation Under'', was released in 2001. The band promoted the album using a self-published website, allowing fans to personally communicate with band members while they were on tour. Chester Charles Bennington (March 20, 1976 – July 20, 2017) was an American singer and songwriter who was best known as the lead vocalist of rock band Linkin Park. He was also the lead vocalist of the bands Grey Daze, Dead by Sunrise, and Stone Temple Pilots. Robert Gregory Bourdon (born January 20, 1979) is an American musician, best known as the drummer and co-founding member of the American rock band Linkin Park. Early life Bourdon was born in Calabasas, California. He received classical piano lessons at a young age. He was inspired to play the drums after attending an Aerosmith concert, where he was personally introduced to drummer Joey Kramer. He also cites Tower of Power and Earth, Wind and Fire as his early influences. Bourdon attended Agoura High School in Agoura Hills where het met future bandmates Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda, in the high school's jazz band.
