Dave Coskunian
Davit "Dave Coskunian" Çoşkun, a Turkish-American soccer player of Armenian descent, earned three caps with the U.S. national team. He played one season in the National Professional Soccer League and one in the North American Soccer League. Professional career In 1965, Coşkun began his professional career with İstanbulspor A.Ş. in Turkey. On February 7, 1967, the nineteen-year-old Coskun signed with the Los Angeles Toros of the National Professional Soccer League. The Toros folded at the end of the season, but Coskun remained in the Los Angeles area, playing for various amateur clubs. On April 2, 1974, he joined the Los Angeles Aztecs of the North American Soccer League, but was released on May 1, 1974. He then moved north to play that season with the San Jose Earthquakes. Samsun, historically known as Sampsounta ( gr, Σαμψούντα) and Amisos (Ancient Greek: Αμισός), is a city on the north coast of Turkey and is a major Black Sea port. Rudy Getzinger (born April 9, 1943) is a American retired soccer player who played as a midfielder. He was raised in Austria before coming to the US. He spent most of his career with Chicago-based teams, earned eight caps with the United States and is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Club career Born in Sremska Mitrovica, Yugoslavia, Getzinger spent several years as a boy in Austria. In 1958, his family moved to the United States and settled in Chicago. When he arrived in Chicago, he joined the Schwaben AC soccer club as a youth player. That season, Schwaben won the Peel Cup. At the time that Getzinger joined the club, it was the dominant team in the National Soccer League of Chicago, having won the league title several years in a row.
