''Daughtry'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Daughtry, released by RCA Records on November 21, 2006. The band is fronted by ''American Idol'' fifth season-finalist Chris Daughtry. The release is the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history, the best-selling album of 2007, according to ''Billboard'', and the band's highest-selling record. Background and production "Breakdown", as it appears on ''Daughtry'', is actually a rewrite and combination of two songs previously recorded by Chris Daughtry's former alternative metal/hard rock band, Absent Element. The songs "Conviction" and "Break Down" appeared on the EP ''Uprooted'', the only release by Absent Element, released on October 20, 2005. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100, also known as simply the Hot 100, is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), online streaming, and radio airplay in the U.S. A new chart is compiled and released online to the public by ''Billboard''s website on Tuesdays but post-dated to the following Saturday, when the printed magazine first reaches newsstands. ''WWE Tribute to the Troops'' is a former annual American professional wrestling event that was held and produced by WWE and Armed Forces Entertainment. The show aired as a television special during the month of December (specifically during the Christmas and holiday season, holiday season), with the exception of the 2019 event, which was a special non-televised show, and the 2021 event, which aired in mid-November. As its name implied, the show honored and entertained United States Armed Forces members. The 2007 Backlash was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It was the ninth Backlash and took place on April 29, 2007, at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw, SmackDown!, and ECW brand divisions. It was WWE's first monthly PPV held to feature all three brands after the company discontinued brand-exclusive PPVs. The concept of the pay-per-view was based around the backlash from WrestleMania 23. The main match on the Raw brand was a fatal four-way match for the WWE Championship involving champion John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, and Shawn Michaels. Mark Wilkerson
Mark Wilkerson is an American musician, who was the lead singer and guitarist for rock band Course of Nature, previously known as COG. Wilkerson co-wrote the song " It's Not Over" which was released as a single and as the opening track on the eponymous album by Daughtry. On December 6, 2007, the song earned him and the other co-writers a nomination for Best Rock Song for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. On May 3, 2007, Wilkerson gave a concert to help the relief efforts of Enterprise High School in Alabama, two months after a violent storm destroyed the school and killed eight students. Course of Nature was an American alternative rock band formed in Enterprise, Alabama in 2001, later based in Los Angeles. The band was co-founded by lead singer and rhythm guitarist Mark Wilkerson, with a final lineup of Sean Kipe (lead guitar), Jackson Eppley (bass) and Shane Lenzen O'Connell (drums). History Mark Wilkerson and guitarist/bassist John "Fish" Milldrum formed Course of Nature after leaving Alabama band Cog, naming their new band after a song title from their previous band. The band originally played cover songs, but gradually developed and played their own material. They were joined by drummer Rick Shelton, formerly from Dust for Life. Brett "Ace" Young (born November 15, 1980) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He gained national recognition while appearing on the fifth season of ''American Idol''. Alternative Metal
Alternative metal (also known as alt-metal) is a genre of heavy metal music that combines heavy metal with influences from alternative rock and other genres not normally associated with metal. Luminate Data, LLC (formerly MRC Data and P-MRC Data) is a provider of music and entertainment data.
