Johann "Hans" Hölzel (; 19 February 1957 – 6 February 1998), better known by his stage name Falco, was an Austrian singer and musician. Falco had several international hits including " Der Kommissar" (1981), "Rock Me Amadeus", " Vienna Calling", "Jeanny", " The Sound of Musik", "Coming Home (Jeanny Part II, One Year Later)", and posthumously "Out of the Dark". "Rock Me Amadeus" reached No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' charts in 1986, making him the only artist in history whose principal language was German, to score a ''vocal'' number-one hit in the United States. According to his estate, he has sold 20 million albums and 40 million singles, which makes him the best-selling Austrian singer of all time. ''Data de Groove'' is the sixth album by Austrian singer Falco, released in May 1990 – a collaboration with producer Robert Ponger. It was dedicated to the upcoming computer era and peaked at number 11 in Austria. It is known to be his most complex and intellectual album. So far it is the only album out of print and therefore quite a rarity, especially on CD format. Teldec (Telefunken-Decca Schallplatten GmbH) is a German record label in Hamburg, Germany. Today the label is a property of Warner Music Group. History Teldec was a producer of (first) shellac and (later) vinyl records. The Teldec manufacturing facility was located in Nortorf near Kiel in Germany. The company was founded in 1950 as a co-operation between Telefunken and Decca Records. The name Teldec is the result of taking the first three letters of both labels: Telefunken and Decca. Records manufactured by Teldec mostly were released under the Telefunken or Decca label, but normally these records contained no hint that they were made by Teldec. In 1983, Telefunken and Decca pulled out of Teldec and in 1987 Teldec was sold to Time Warner. In 1997, the remaining compact-disc production facility in Nortorf was to be closed by Time Warner, but after a management buyout, the new company OK Media, continued CD production. Robert Ponger
Robert Ponger (born 1950, Vienna) is an Austrian songwriter and record producer, most famous for his work with Austrian singer Falco (musician), Falco. Ponger produced and shared writing credits on Falco's first two solo albums, 1982's ''Einzelhaft'' and 1984's ''Junge Roemer''. He co-wrote the song "Der Kommissar (song), Der Kommissar", which was a hit for both Falco in its original German and later for the British rock band After the Fire, whose English translation of the song became a top-ten ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' hit in 1983. Following his early work with Falco, Ponger co-wrote and produced music by Austrian singer Udo Jürgens. He later reunited with Falco to co-write and produce the singer's 1990 album ''Data de Groove''. "Do It Again" is a 1972 song composed and performed by American rock group Steely Dan, who released it as a single from their debut album ''Can't Buy a Thrill''. The single version differed from the album version, shortening the intro and outro and omitting the organ solo.
