''Daskon'' (; lit. ''Daskon, the Fire of Kandy''; also known as ) is a Sri Lankan drama starring Roshan Ravindra as the titular character ''Daskon'', Pooja Umashankar and Akila Dhanuddhara. Directed and written by Jackson Anthony, this historical drama depicts the legendary romance between Queen Pramila, the queen consort of king Vira Parackrama Narendrasinghe and Minister Daskon. It aired on Swarnavahini every Saturday and Sunday at 20:30 ( SLST) from September 6, 2014 to July 5, 2015. Synopsis About the tragic love story between real life Daskon (Pedro de Gascoyn), the chief minister of king Vira Parackrama Narendrasinghe and the king’s queen consort Sumitra (Pramila Devi). Threeris Hyacinth Wijeratne (; 3 October 194631 July 2021) was an actress in Cinema of Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television. In a career spanned more than four decades, she was known for her breakthrough roles in ''Karumakkarayo'', ''Tharaka Mal'' and ''Ho Gaana Pokuna.'' Personal life Hyacinth Wijeratne was born on 3 October 1946 in Modara, Sri Lanka, as the third child of the family. She was educated at Mary Margaret College, Modara (currently known as St. Anthony's College). She later attended St. James' College, Modara for further studies. She had two older sisters, one younger brother and one younger sister. Pooja Gauthami Umashankar is an Indian-Sri Lankan actress who has primarily appeared in Indian Tamil and Sri Lankan Sinhala cinema. Early and personal life Pooja was born on June 25, 1981, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Pooja's father, H. R.
