Dashmesh Regiment
The Dashmesh Regiment was a militant group, and is part of the Khalistan movement to create a Sikh homeland called Khalistan via armed struggle. The Dashmesh Regiment ''jathebandi'' group has claimed responsibility for two of the killings in the 2016–17 Targeted killings in Punjab, India. Dashmesh Regiments leadership was destroyed during Operation Vadhi Pahar in 1991 Punjab,India and is referred to as balowali encounter where hundreds of combined troops of BSF,CRPF,PP and Indian army were deployed in the farm fields of Bolowali village. Operation Blue Star
Operation Blue Star was the codename of a military operation which was carried out by Indian security forces between 1 and 10 June 1984 in order to remove Damdami Taksal leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his followers from the buildings of the Golden Temple, the holiest site for Sikhs which is located in Amritsar, Punjab, India. The decision to launch the operation rested with the Prime Minister of India, then Indira Gandhi, who had already authorized military preparation for a confrontation at the temple complex 18 months prior according to the then- Vice Chief of the Army Staff, S. K. Sinha. Khalistan Liberation Force
Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) is a militant group, and is a part of the Khalistan Movement and its goal to create a Sikh homeland called Khalistan via armed struggle. The KLF appears to have been a loose association of Khalistani militant groups. The KLF ''Jathebandi'' (organization) was founded by Aroor Singh and Sukhvinder Singh Babbar in 1986. Other KLF leaders who headed KLF after Aroor Singh were Avtar Singh Brahma (killed by Punjab police 22 July 1988), Gurjant Singh Budhsinghwala (Killed by Indian security forces on 29 July 1992), Navroop Singh (killed by Punjab police on 4 August 1992), Kuldip Singh Keepa Shekhupura, and Navneet Singh Khadian (killed 25 Feb 1994).
