Dasan-myeon
Dasan-myeon is a subdivision of Goryeong County, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, in the county's northeast. It is composed of ten ''ri''. Dasan-myeon looks across the Nakdong River at Daegu, and also borders Seongju County to the north. To the south it is bounded by Goryeong's Seongsan-myeon. A largely rural district, Dasan-myeon is home to about 7,400 people living on 46 square kilometers. Goryeong County
Goryeong County () is a county in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. Goryeong is a historical center of the ancient kingdom of Daegaya. Administrative divisions Goryeong County is divided into 1 eup and 7 myeon. Geography Goryeong-gun is mountainous, with a rugged mountain range to the southwest and the main stream of the Nakdong river flowing to the east, which forms the border with Dalseong-gun. Many rivers originating from Gayasan, such as Geumcheon (금천; 錦川) and Hoecheon (회천; 會川), join in Goryeong before flowing into the Nakdong river. On the western bank of Nakdong river lies fertile alluvial plains suitable for agriculture. The area is rich in kaolinite which boosted Goryeong's ceramic industry since ancient times, and it is associated with porcelain pottery. Gyeongsangbuk-do
North Gyeongsang Province (, ) is a province in eastern South Korea, and with an area of , it is the largest province in the Korean peninsula. The province was formed in 1896 from the northern half of the former Gyeongsang province, and remained a province of Korea (as Keishōhoku-dō during Japanese rule) until the country's division in 1945, then became part of South Korea. Daegu was the capital of North Gyeongsang Province between 1896 and 1981, but has not been a part of the province since 1981. In 2016, the provincial capital moved from Daegu to Andong. Nakdong River
The Nakdong River or Nakdonggang (, ) is the longest river in South Korea, which passes through the major cities of Daegu and Busan. It takes its name from its role as the eastern border of the Gaya confederacy during Three Kingdoms of Korea, Korea's Three Kingdoms Era. Seongju County (''Seongju-gun'') is a county in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. This largely agricultural area is located immediately west of the metropolitan city of Daegu. The capital of the county is the town of Seongju. Lotte Skyhill Seongju Country Club () was selected as the location for the deployment of Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system in July 2016.
