As of February 2010, he is one of the youngest executive directors of an established non-profit organization in the world. John Darrow
John Darrow (born Harry Simpson; 17 July 1907 – 24 February 1980) was an American actor of the late silent and early talking film eras. He is the uncle of actress Barbara Darrow. Biography Born in Leonia, New Jersey in 1907, Darrow began acting in theater with a stock company, right after graduating high school. Shortly after, he would begin his film career with a featured role in the 1927 silent film, ''High School Hero''. After several films with featured roles, he was cast as the lead in 1931's '' The Lady Refuses'', which co-stars Betty Compson and was directed by George Archainbaud. He would spend the next five years in leading man or featured roles, before retiring from acting in 1935. He would appear in five films that year, although four of them were produced in 1934. Darrow J. "Duke" Tully (February 27, 1932 – June 20, 2010) was a former publisher of the ''Arizona Republic'' and the ''Phoenix Gazette'' newspapers, published in Phoenix. Both were owned by Central Newspapers, Inc., headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the time. Central Newspapers was founded by Eugene C. Darrow Hooper
Clarence Darrow Hooper (January 30, 1932 – August 19, 2018) was an American athlete who competed mainly in the shot put. Hooper was born in Fort Worth, Texas, where in 1949 he graduated from North Side High School. He went on to attend Texas A&M University and won the NCAA shot put title in 1951. By the time he graduated from college, he had a wife and two children. He competed for the United States in the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki, Finland in the shot put. Hooper's last throw was just two centimeters away from winning the gold medal: Parry O’Brien's shot put measured 17.41 (57' 1 1/2"), while Hooper's measured 17.39m (57' 3/4") Hooper won the silver medal. William Ward Darrow is a sociologist and professor emeritus of public health at Florida International University. Before accepting a position at FIU in August 1994, Darrow served as Chief of the Behavioral and Prevention Research Branch, Division of STD/HIV Prevention, at the National Center for Prevention Services of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Darrow has published over 100 scientific papers in professional journals, books, and research monographs. Ruth Darrow
Ruth Renter Darrow (1895–1956) was an American pathologist who was the first to identify the cause of hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN). In 1938, three years prior to the discovery of antibodies against the Rh antigen, Darrow correctly hypothesized that the disease was caused by destruction of red blood cells due to antibodies in the mother's blood. Darrow's research was inspired by her personal experiences with the disease. Biography Darrow was born in 1895.
