Darrington, West Yorkshire
Darrington is a small village and civil parish in the City of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, England, from Pontefract and from the city of York. The village is split in two by the busy A1 road (Great Britain), A1 trunk road which runs from London to Scotland. The 2011 census population was 1,403. History The history of Darrington can be traced back to the time of Edward the Confessor. The last Anglo Saxon owners of Darrington were named Jordan, Baret and Alsi. After the Norman conquest of England, Norman conquest it fell to the ownership of Ilbert de Lacy, a favourite of William the Conqueror. The village was recorded in the Domesday Book as ''Darnintone'', which means the ''town of Daegheard's people''. Darrington is a town in Snohomish County, Washington, Snohomish County, Washington (state), Washington, United States. It is located in a North Cascades mountain valley formed by the Sauk River (Washington), Sauk and Stillaguamish River, North Fork Stillaguamish rivers. Darrington is connected to nearby areas by Washington State Route 530, State Route 530, which runs along the two rivers towards the city of Arlington, Washington, Arlington, located to the west, and Rockport, Washington, Rockport. Darrington Sentimore (born February 17, 1990) is a former American football defensive lineman. High school career Sentimore was a standout athlete at Destrehan High School in Destrehan, Louisiana. Under head coach Stephen Robicheaux, Sentimore would put together a stellar high school career. As a junior in 2007, he recorded 120 tackles, 47 tackles for loss, and 16 sacks. Darington O'Neal Hobson (born September 29, 1987) is an American professional basketball player for Botafogo of the Novo Basquete Brasil. He played college basketball for the New Mexico Lobos. Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Hobson attended five high schools and a junior college before finally becoming eligible to play Division I college basketball.
