Essex County Cricket Club
Essex County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Essex. Founded in 1876, the club had minor county status until 1894 when it was promoted to first-class status pending its entry into the County Championship in 1895. Jeremy Snape
Jeremy Nicholas Snape (born 27 April 1973) is a former English cricketer, who played limited over internationals, and a sports psychologist. He was a right-handed batsman and bowled right-arm off-break. He was the 20/20 captain for Leicester. Snape holds a master's degree in sports psychology and has worked with a number of teams in cricket, football, and rugby union. Cricket Domestic career Snape started his cricket career in 1991 at Northamptonshire, which was soon interrupted by higher education. During this time he was a student at Durham University, graduating in 1994. Upon returning to county cricket, the rest of his years with Northamptonshire produced no further trophies, and he decided on a move to Gloucestershire for the beginning of the 1999 season. Paul Andrew Nixon (born 21 October 1970) is an English cricket coach and former professional cricketer who played for Leicestershire, England, England A, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Kent. He is a wicket-keeper and left-handed batsman. Nixon played in twenty international matches for the England cricket team, all within a four-month spell in 2007.
