Darren Pearce
Darren Pearce is a British electronic dance music disc jockey and record producer. Active from the 1990s, he has been a resident DJ at several London club nights and has UK chart success for both his mixing and as part of the music duos Gems for Jem and JDS. Biography Pearce started his career performing at events he setup himself, gradually getting bookings from promoters, until he was noticed by Graham Gold and became resident DJ at club night ''Peach'' where he stayed for 11 years. He was also resident DJ at a number of other London club nights, including ''Sunny Side Up'', and ''Trinity''. Pearce released music under the name Bass Construction, with the 1990 record "The E.P." which included the techno breakbeat track "Check How We Jam". He was also a member of the group Massivo, which had a top 25 hit in July 1990 with a cover of Lovin' You. ''Mixmag'' is a British electronic dance and clubbing magazine published in London. Launched in 1983 as a print magazine, it has branched into dance events, including festivals and club nights. History The first issue of ''Mixmag'' was printed on 1 February 1983 as a 16-page black-and-white magazine published by Disco Mix Club, a DJ mailout service. ''Muzik'' was a British dance music magazine published by IPC Media from June 1995 to August 2003. ''Muzik'' was created by two former ''Melody Maker'' journalists, Push and Ben Turner. Push was the editor of ''Muzik'' from its launch until he left the magazine in 1998, at which point Turner took over as editor. The title was subsequently edited by Dave Fowler, then Chris Elwell-Sutton for less than a year, before Conor McNicholas, who went on to edit ''NME'', took over. Aimed at serious dance music fans rather than weekend clubbers, ''Muzik''s writers included a number of well-known DJs, including Kris Needs, Rob da Bank, Spoony, Terry Farley, Bob Jones, Jonty Skrufff and Dave Mothersole. The ''Reactivate'' series was a compilation album series known for pioneering electronic techno and trance music. With 18 releases, and a number of best-of compilations, the series has achieved both chart success and over a million record sales. The albums were published by UK-based React Music over a 24-year period starting from 1991. The Reactivate sound has been reported as significant in the international rave music scene. John 00 Fleming
John Fleming (or John "00" Fleming; born 1 April 1969) is an English trance producer and DJ from Worthing, West Sussex. He has had releases on record labels such as Ministry of Sound, Deconstruction Records, Logic Records, and 3 Beat Music. He also owns and runs Joof Recordings. He has performed at many clubs including Cream, Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, and Godskitchen. In his early 20s, Fleming battled lung cancer. Fleming was originally involved in goa music, but changed over to harder trance music before shifting to psychedelic trance. He traces his influences back to early 1980s acts such as Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, and current acts like Astral Projection, Airwave, Trifonic.
