Darren Gaspar
Darren Gaspar ( ; born 20 May 1976) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League (AFL). AFL career Sydney Swans career (1994–1995) Gaspar was drafted with the first pick in the 1993 National Draft by the Sydney Swans. He debuted against the Adelaide Crows in round three of the 1994 AFL season and injured his medial ligament in the third quarter, which resulted in him playing only five games for the year. After only two seasons with the Swans, he turned down a one-year deal and moved to the Richmond Football Club via the 1996 Pre-season Draft. Richmond career (1996–2007) Robert Walls was influential in getting Gaspar to Richmond and he provided the emerging full-back with vital experience, playing him on Jason Dunstall and Tony Lockett in his first few games with the club. South Fremantle Football Club
South Fremantle Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Fremantle, Western Australia. The club plays in the Western Australian Football League (WAFL) and the WAFL Women's (WAFLW), commonly going by the nickname the ''Bulldogs''. The All-Australian team is an all-star team of Australian rules footballers, selected by a panel at the end of each season. It represents a complete team, including an interchange bench, of the best-performed players during the season, led by that season's premiership coach. Despite its nature, the All-Australian team is only ceremonial. Though the AFL played an All-Star match in 2020, it was the first in 12 years, and the difference in skill level between the All-Australian team and the nearest international competitor is currently too large for any contest to be competitive. Subiaco Oval (; nicknamed Subi) was a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia, located in the suburb of Subiaco. It was opened in 1908 and closed in 2017 after the completion of the new Perth Stadium in Burswood. West Coast Eagles
The West Coast Eagles are a professional Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club was founded in 1986 as one of two expansion teams in the Australian Football League (AFL), then known as the Victorian Football League. The club plays its home games at Perth Stadium and has its headquarters at Lathlain Park. The West Australian Football Commission wholly owns the West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Football Club, the AFL's other Western Australian team. 1116 SEN (call sign 3AK) is an Australian radio station in Victoria. Owned and operated by Pacific Star Network, it broadcasts a sports radio format from Lower Plenty to Greater Melbourne. Tim Gossage
Tim Gossage (born 27 February 1965, in Perth) is an Australian sports commentator and Australian rules football coach based in Perth, Western Australia. Media Gossage joined Network 10 in Perth in 1990. During his time at Ten, he'd featured on the network's Melbourne Cup Coverage & an AFL commentator or boundary rider on Ten and Fox Sports, mainly commentating AFL games involving the Fremantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles. In 2009, Gossage briefly involved with 3AW Football coverage in place of the recently deceased Clinton Grybas while involved with sister station 6PR Football coverage. He also presents the sport news on the Perth edition of Ten News in addition to hosting a local weekly football show, The Western Front. Terry Wallace
Terry Wallace (born 13 December 1958) is a former professional Australian rules football player and coach. As a player, his career spanned three VFL/AFL clubs; most notably Hawthorn where he played in three premierships. After one season with Richmond, he then played with Footscray Football Club where he earned two Best and Fairest awards. He also achieved one All-Australian selection when representing the VFA at the 1988 National Carnival. As coach, he took the Western Bulldogs from 15th in 1996 to 3rd when he featured in the documentary '' Year of the Dogs'' a position in which the club held in 1997 and 1998 during which he was named coach of the All-Australian team. Wallace's coaching style is considered to be innovative and he is credited with having started the modern practice of sides warming up on the field before a match. The 2001 International Rules Series was the eighth annual International Rules Series and the fourth time a test series of international rules football has been played between Ireland and Australia since the series resumed in 1998. The series was won by Ireland, who recorded their third series win in four attempts and their second on Australian soil.
