Darrell Akeem Luter Jr. (born April 24, 2000) is an American football cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at South Alabama Jaguars football, South Alabama. Early life Luter was born on April 24, 2000, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He attended Oak Grove High School (Hattiesburg, Mississippi), Oak Grove High School and played American football, football for three years, basketball for two years and Track and field, track for one year. Despite many of his teammates being highly recruited (including six who signed with NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, FBS teams), Luter was not, and eventually committed to Pearl River Community College. A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses.
