Darmiyaan
''Darmiyaan: In Between'' is a 1997 Indian film starring Arif Zakaria, Tabu and Kiron Kher. The film is set in Bollywood of the 1940s and tells the story of an actress who discovers that her son is a eunuch. Hindustani vocalist, Rita Ganguly, has appeared in the film. Shahrukh Khan was originally slated to play the role of intersex, finally essayed by Arif Zakaria. Arif Zakaria
Arif Zakaria (born 11 November 1966) is an Indian actor. He has had roles in many films, beginning with his debut film ''Darmiyaan'' (1997), ''1947 Earth'' (1998), ''Dance like a man'' (2004), and biographical projects '' Mardana'' and the controversial '' Nanak Shah Fakir''. Early life Arif Zakaria's uncle Rafiq Zakaria was a veteran politician from the Indian National Congress. His brother Asif Zakaria is also an INC politician and cousin Fareed Zakaria is an American journalist. Zakaria completed his graduation from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics. Kalpana Lajmi
Kalpana Lajmi (1954–2018) was an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter. Lajmi was an independent filmmaker working more on realistic, low-budget films, which are known in India as parallel cinema. Her films were often woman-oriented. She had been for a long time manager with Bhupen Hazarika. She was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2017 and died on 23 September 2018 at the age of 64. Biography Kalpana Lajmi was the daughter of painter Lalita Lajmi and Navy Captain Gopi Lajmi. Bhupen Hazarika
Bhupen Hazarika () (8 September 1926 – 5 November 2011) was an Indian playback singer, lyricist, musician, poet, actor, filmmaker and politician from Assam, widely known as ''Sudha Kontho'' (meaning cuckoo, literally "nectar-throated"). His songs were written and sung mainly in the Assamese language by himself, are marked by humanity and universal brotherhood and have been translated and sung in many languages, most notably in Bengali and Hindi. Rita Ganguly
Rita Ganguly is an exponent in the Indian classical arts. An accomplished dancer, musician and vocalist, she was honoured with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2000 and with the Padma Shri in 2003. She is the mother of actress Meghna Kothari and the of younger sister of the famous Ravindra Sangeet singer Gita Ghatak.
