Dark Knight III
''The Dark Knight III: The Master Race'', also stylized as ''DK III: The Master Race'' and later collected as ''Batman: The Dark Knight – Master Race'', is a 2015–2017 nine-issue DC Comics Limited series (comics), limited series co-written by Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Miller, Andy Kubert, and Klaus Janson. The series is a sequel to Miller's 1986 Batman miniseries ''The Dark Knight Returns'' and the 2001 miniseries ''The Dark Knight Strikes Again'', continuing the story of an aged Bruce Wayne resuming his identity as a crimefighter, aided by his sidekick Carrie Kelley (Robin) and featuring an ensemble of DC Universe characters including Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman. In ''DK III'', Atom (Ray Palmer), Ray Palmer restores 1,000 of the inhabitants of Kandor (comics), Kandor to full-size, but they immediately begin to terrorize the Earth. Andy Kubert
Andrew Kubert (; born February 27, 1962) is an American comics artist, letterer, and writer. He is the son of Joe Kubert and brother of Adam Kubert, both of whom are also artists, and the uncle of comics editor Katie Kubert. Kubert is a graduate of and an instructor of second-year classes at The Kubert School, founded by his father, who also taught there, and would later serve as an instructor there himself. After beginning his career as a letterer at DC Comics, Kubert went on to illustrate books for that company including ''Sgt. Rock'' and ''Adam Strange'', as well its intercompany crossover with Dark Horse Comics, ''Batman Versus Predator''. He later worked for Marvel Comics, illustrated various ''X-Men'' and Ultimate Marvel-related titles, including ''The Uncanny X-Men'', ''Ultimate X-Men'', and ''Ultimate Iron Man'', and provided artwork for notable storylines such as "Age of Apocalypse" in 1995. Batmobile
The Batmobile is the fictional land vehicle driven by the superhero Batman, used both to patrol Gotham City looking for crime and to engage in car chases or vehicular combat with the city's criminal underworld. The Batmobile is one of a suite of highly advanced equipment depicted at Batman's disposal in the Batcave, which the vehicle accesses through a hidden entrance. The concept of a dedicated automobile for the superhero originates in ''Detective Comics'' issue Detective Comics 27, #27 (May 1939), with the name being coined in issue #48. Janson, Klaus
Klaus Janson (born January 23, 1952) is an American comics artist, working regularly for Marvel Comics and DC Comics and sporadically for independent companies. While he is best known as an inker, Janson has frequently worked as a penciller and colorist. Early life Klaus Janson was born in Coburg, West Germany. He emigrated to the United States in 1957, settling with his family in Connecticut, where he lived in Bridgeport from 1957 to 1972. When he was young, his Spider-Man collection was thrown away by his mother. Janson then became interested in the premiering character Daredevil, who wasn't popular among Janson's friends. Career After a short stint as assistant to Dick Giordano in the early 1970s, Janson's first credited comics artwork was published by Marvel Comics in ''Jungle Action'' #6 (Sept. 1973). Bat-Signal
The Bat-Signal is a distress signal device appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, as a means to summon the superhero Batman. It is a specially modified searchlight with a stylized emblem of a bat affixed to the light, allowing it to project a large bat symbol onto cloudy night skies over Gotham City. The signal is used by the Gotham City Police Department as a method of contacting and summoning Batman in the event his help is needed, but also as a weapon of psychological intimidation to the numerous criminals of Gotham City. It doubles as the primary logo for the ''Batman'' series of comic books, TV shows, and films. To celebrate Batman's 80th anniversary, DC Comics and Warner Bros. lit the Bat-Signal in thirteen cities on September 21, 2019, starting in Melbourne and ending in Los Angeles.
