Darick Hall
Darick Hall (born July 25, 1995) is an American professional baseball first baseman and designated hitter in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies. Early life and amateur career Hall grew up in Hereford, Arizona, and attended Buena High School. Hall began his college baseball career at Cochise College as both a pitcher and a first baseman. He transferred to Dallas Baptist University after his sophomore year. In his only season with the Patriots, Hall was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year after he batted .302 and led the team with 20 home runs and 72 RBIs while also posting a 9–3 record as a pitcher. Clearwater Threshers
The Clearwater Threshers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. They are located in Clearwater, Florida, and have played their home games at BayCare Ballpark since 2004. They previously played at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium from 1985 to 2003. The team began play in 1985 as the Clearwater Phillies and were named for their Major League Baseball affiliate. Clearwater became the Threshers in 2004 when the team moved to the new Spectrum Field. The South Atlantic League, often informally called the Sally League, is a Minor League Baseball league with teams predominantly in states along the Atlantic coast of the United States from New York to Georgia. A Class A league for most of its history, the league was promoted to High-A as part of Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The league temporarily operated for the 2021 season as the High-A East before reassuming its original moniker in 2022. The Jersey Shore BlueClaws (formerly Lakewood BlueClaws) are a Minor League Baseball team of the South Atlantic League and the High-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. 2016 Major League Baseball Draft
The 2016 Major League Baseball draft began on June 9, 2016, to assign amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The draft order is the reverse order of the 2015 MLB season standings. In addition, compensation picks were distributed for players who did not sign from the 2015 MLB draft. The Philadelphia Phillies received the first overall selection. New England Collegiate Baseball League
The New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) is a 13-team collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league founded in 1993 and sanctioned by the NCAA and Major League Baseball. Each NECBL team plays an eight-week, 44-game schedule during June and July, with a playoff in early August. Like the Cape Cod Baseball League and other amateur leagues, the NECBL is a showcase for top college-level players, giving professional baseball scouts a chance to see prospective pros playing against each other.
